Teaching Philosophy

Call it a philosophy, call it a personal mission statement, but whatever you do, have it. Without a solid and worthwhile teaching philosophy, a teacher is aimlessly wandering about the school. A philosophy is what makes the rest of this page valid. Without a valid philosophy, the personal assessment and growth plans are in vain.

"I must actively and readily establish, provide, and promote music education in the schools, community, and lives of any and all I come in contact. I must make aware the importance and relevance music has to the enrichment of lives. I must always create situations that challenge, entertain, and develop minds. I must stimulate interest in students for music and motivate students to strive for excellence. And I must daily better myself as an educator, listener, and musician, not necessarily in that order."
