INTRODUCTION MAPS: - Top
Mentoring Assistance for Prospective Scholars is a state funded program administered by the Office of Diversity for
Academic Affairs to give African American, Hispanic American, and Native American (AAHANA) students an
opportunity to participate in partnerships with experienced Mentors. Full-time faculty, administrators, and
professional staff volunteer to be mentors to MAPS students by taking an active role and interest in their academic,
social and professional development. As MAPS staff, we believe every student admitted to Indiana State University
should have the opportunity to matriculate successfully and achieve graduation. A core endeavor of MAPS is
to make this possible by assisting AAHANA students' development through support services we offer to them
and their mentors.

Mentoring Assistance for Prospective Scholars (MAPS) pledges to provide support services to African American,
Hispanic American, and Native American, (AAHANA) students at Indiana State University. It is our belief that
AAHANA students admitted to ISU should have access to any available resource that serves to enhance academic,
emotional, professional, and social success. It is inherent in the mission of MAPS to enhance the total development
of AAHANA students by offering and supporting :

While studying this brief guide you will notice some opportunities the MAPS program offers to participants. Being
a MAPS mentee can be one of the more unique and rewarding experiences in your academic career. MAPS presents
an excellent 'route to success' for any AAHANA student willing to work and apply the established rules that
govern program participants. MAPS will be only as enjoyable and profitable to you as you make it. If you are
