The idea for a Faculty Liaison group came from Dr. Dorothy Simpson-Taylor. Dr. Coopwood convened this group to:
Recommend to the Provost and Deans program that increase faculty sensitivity to student to student diversity needs and competencies.
Encourage additional cross-departmental faculty diversity experiences through the faculty senate.
Establish a resource pool for academic deans containing diversity trends, practices and initiatives for various disciplines.
Explore ways to enhance students representation, retention, scholarship and institytional transformation from within the classroom.
Provide news of diversity within academic units in Cultural Capers.
The Liaison group is set to make some significant changes in the way our faculty handle the diversity dilemma and dreaded
conversation thereof. The following people make up this important group.
