MAHALAYA - The Festival  Begins.....

This is the beginning of the festival, meaning though the goddess Durga stays with us for four days the puja starts before (seven days before). People pray for their demised relatives and take holy dip in the river Ganges. This is known as “Tarpan”.

 

SHASTHI  (Sixth day)

Goddess Durga with her children, Ganesh, Kharthik, Laxmi and Saraswati. 

        SAPTAMI  (Seventh day)

               ASHTAMI (Eighth day)

                       NABAMI  (Ninth day)

                              DASHAMI (Tenth day)
