• Mice with extra copies of normal gene are generally normal

• Mice with truncated gene having termimal 100 aa’s: like Alzheimers

• Mice with mutations from early onset version (V177 to A) or other inherited version (K670 to N, M671 to L) have plaques and bodies, but not tangles (??)

• Also involved: Apo E4, presenilin 1 & 2

  • different alleles change A-beta-4 accumulation
