• Infected cell produces polyhedra

• Ingested polyhedra release infectious nucleocapsids after ingestion (alkali)

• receptor uptake leads to infection of midgut

• midgut releases polyhedra (budding) to circulation (ten cycles: dead bug)

• limited host ranges

• resistence to baculovirus is rare (?)
