My name, as you have probably guessed, is Tad Wesley. My life is currently in a major transitional period, having recently graduted from Indiana State University and gotten married (Wedding pics coming soon). My degree at ISU was in Economics and Political Science, but of course my current line of work has nothing to do with that at all. I actually work in a mortgage lending department of a local bank, called First Financial Bank. I also have a part-time web design and computer consultant business called StarGazer Productions.
I enjoy sports, both at the spectator and competitive levels. My favorite sport to play is racquetball (I play in intramural tournaments sometimes), and my favorite to watch is hockey (if only I could skate well...). I also enjoy basketball, football, and golf. I despise the sport of baseball, even more so after the latest round of squabbling by the management and players. If you would like to see my internet sports page, click here.
I am actively involved in politics, and take stands on most issues,
which I regularly debate with my friends, and newsgroups on the internet. I
have collected an extensive list of material for this, too, which I have put
on my politics page. I am conservative on most economic
issues, with a firm belief in the market's natural ability to take care of it
self if left alone. However, I am more lax than conservatives on social issues,
because I also believe in the
For these reasons, I generally consider myself a Libertarian. To find out more about Libertarianism, its basic tenets, and its growing popularity, click here, or go to my politics page. There are, however, two important areas where I differ from mainstream Libertarian views--abortion and age restrictions. I am pro-life, since I think the unborn fetus' right to life supercedes the mother's right to end it arbitrarily, unless her life is thus endangered. Also, most libertarians want to eliminate many age qualifications, like the drinking age, and the voting age. I agree that although children do have some rights (in fact probably more than they are accorded now), they still need to be protected from themselves until they are able to make clear, rational decisions based on logical motives, and with a clear understanding of consequences that only comes with age, maturity, and experience. Although this occurs at a different age for each individual (for too many people in the world not at all), it occurs for most by the age of 20.
Sorry...I'm rambling. The point is that I'm basically a Libertarian kind of guy. Unfortunately, that means I'm usually stuck voting for Republicans, since Libertarians can't field many candidates in Hicksville, IN (aka the Midwest in general). That's OK. The Libertarian party is the fastest growing party in America, so it's only a matter of time...
I like most kinds of music, including classical, rock, grunge, industrial, alternative, metal, and techno. Some of my favorite bands include Soundgarden, Live, Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails, Audioslave, Staind, Evanescence, and Metallica, but it's not a rare event to hear Mozart or Beethoven coming from my stereo, either. The kinds of music that fail to excite me are country (the lyrics are pointless and depressing, and the music twangy and annoying--Blah!) and Barbra Streisand/Frank Sinatra/Johnny Mathis type music (what is the name for that anyway?). I am indifferent toward jazz, blues, and most rap (although LL Cool J, the Beastie Boys, House of Pain, Run DMC, and Public Enemy are pretty cool). Click here to go to my music page.
I am a big fan of the big screen, too. I love to watch movies, especially cheesy comedies like Monty Python flicks, Spaceballs, Airplane, The Princess Bride, the Naked Gun movies, and The Blues Brothers. I am also fond of action/adventure/sci-fi films, like the Indiana Jones trilogy, the Star Wars trilogy, The Crow, Total Recall, The Star Trek movies, and most Arnold Schwarzenegger(sp?) films generally. I'm also a HUGE fan of the Lord of the Rings series. Here I have included links to my movies page, my soundbytes page, which has some sound clips of these films(and more), and my images page, which contains pictures from these movies.
I am also an avid reader, especially enjoying the works of Poe, Tolkien, Orwell, and many others. I have created a page for literary links, where you can find, among other things, a listing, by title or author, of most of the books online!
Also, in case it's not apparent by the extent of this page, I happen to like computers, computer games, and goofing off on the internet (I had to get all of these links from somewhere!). Click here to go to my computer-related page, or if you'd rather just look at all of the images I've collected in my surfing days, click back there. (It also has links to pages with lots more images, too, mostly in .gif or .jpg format.)
But, fortunately, I don't spend all of my time parked in front of a monitor. I actually have some friends, too. At this page, I have short stories, e-mail addresses, and pictures, too! For those that have their own cool home pages, I have linked them here, too!.
Some of my other major interests include World War II and gaming. See relevant pages on these topics as well. :) I think that's enough about me, and I even seem to have managed to include a reference to all of my other sub-pages, except the one for my miscellaneous links, here while I was at it...how tidy! Anyway, enjoy my home page, and if you think you can make it better, write me, and give your input. I'd be glad to hear from you!

Me in 2nd Grade!
