 The last Dark Lord of the Sith, he was once a Jedi Knight named Anakin Skywalker.   He married a young Force-strong queen and unbeknownst to him, fathered twins.  He was trained by Obi-wan Kenobi and turned to the Dark Side when influenced by senator Palpatine.  He became the Emporer's second in command and had a bad temper as several ex-officers could have testified.  He barely escaped the Battle of Yavin and afterwards discovered that he had a child, Luke.  He searched the galaxy for his son, hoping to turn him to the Dark Side.  He failed, however, cutting his son's hand off and emotionally scarring him, telling him that he was indeed his father.  When he met Luke again, in the Emporer's throne room, he found out about his daughter, Leia. But he lost his own bionic hand and was defeated.  While Luke was recieving killing bolts of energy from the enraged Emporer, Vader lifted Palpatine up and tossed him into the Death Star's energy core, killing him.  Anakin, returned from the abyss died in his son's arms, forgiven.
