THE COLLEGE YEARS
After Graduating High School in 1981, I enrolled at Purdue University. I lived in the Ross Ade Apartments next to the Stadium with three other roomates, including one of my best friends Gary Walker. I had decided on a double major of Aeronautical Engineering and Partying. I was able to attain my degree in one of those majors in a single year. I was allowed to leave with the knowledge that I had graduated Summa Really Drunk. After 12 years, 9 of which were spent in the service, I decided to rejoin the academic world and get a real degree.
After I had gotten out of the Military I moved in with a woman I had known in Germany. We lived in Tacoma, Washington. I had been accepted to Indiana State University, because I was still considered an Indiana resident. In November of 1992 I left Tacoma and headed for Terre Haute, Indiana. I began at ISU in January of 1993. I majored in MIS, and decided to become active in student organizations. I was a member of the Student Government as a "Commuter Senator". I also joined the MISA a student group for individuals interested in MIS.
One of my biggest interests was becoming part of the Business Fraternity Delta Sigma Pi in the Delta Tau Chapter. After I graduated, I even spent some time in a National position within the Fraternity as a Regional Director, and a member of the Board of Directors. It was through this organization that I met some quality people, one special person that I met was my Mentor or my Big Brother in the fraternity. As this was a co-ed fraternity , my Big Brother was a female and almost 10 years my junior. Renee (Auffart) Fehribach was my Big Brother as well as having the same major, and we have become very close friends. I have been taken into her family and am now close to her parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles most of whom live in Ferdinand, IN or Jasper. I am basically an extended member of the family. I was even given a part in her wedding, and have become good friends with her Husband.
