Rainbow Trout
Inline spinners are one of the most popular, as well as small spoons . For bigger salmonids, like salmon and lake trout, large inline spinners , spoons , and crankbaits are useful. There are whole hordes of cranks and spoons made just for trolling for salmon; if you decide to fish for them, look into it. Also, old-fashioned worms are so deadly on trout that in a number of places live bait for trout is illegal.
Most lake fishing for trout involves trolling from large-ish boats, so that's probably out for you. In streams, trout prefer cold water...if you manage to find cold water, try eddies and backwaters. Sorry, but that's the best I can do on trout.
