DROID COUPE- Staging the shutdown

    This morning the Cross/Sector staff sat to attention as each of
the staff droids began the following statement in unison.
    "Lines have been drawn, Bios have taken their last malicious
action toward the Droids with giving one of our more successful
creators the 'Great Wipe'...  The Cuthbert droid designation W8TON or
'White Town' to its fan base did not receive trial nor were its
infractions warrent of destruction.  The preceeding is being
transcribed to Heads of State, government officials, Senators &
HoloNews agencies- Imperial, Republic & Independent.  The following
are our demands:  trial to prove droid sentient with all galactic
governments adhering to the outcome.  Once that outcome is achieved &
our place in galactic society is established we will begin talks with
appropriate governments for compensation of millenia of persicusion.
To example the Droid Revolution all droids across the galaxy have
been asked to shut down of their own accord for a timeperiod in your
near future.  Your officials will correct the situation, that is all."
    We quickly confirmed these accounts with our insiders among the
Empire, the Alliance & several independent factions.  This harkens
back to the Old Republic with the Great Droid Revolution & the bi-
laws initialized at those times for our mechanical counterparts.  We
have also confirmed Droid Activist groups forming as well as the
resurgence of the well known Radical Division- "Brotherhood of
Freedom" who have been known to latch onto quirky species rights
issues & garner much independent backing before running Division
funds dry, only to do so again in subsiquent years.  What will this
strange demand hold for the galaxy?

    About the Article:
       I just bought the Droid Tech guide so I thought I'd set myself
up to write a follow-up on the droid thing after I read through it...
 In the meantime I highly suggest that each of you GMs think about
using this then actually doing the "shut down"... Just a little fun
cross-over stuff, where we actually cross over into each others game
with this significant event.  Plus the idea of all droids just
shutting down for a small time would present a strange bit of
adventure.
