His expression is unreadable as he begins ] [speaking in a raspy but clearly understandable voice ] "This is a late breaking report. Within the last hour the New Republic Cruiser "Herald" was reported to have disappeared enroute to the Kyvor sector. The cruiser was transporting a New Republic envoy to the neutrally aligned world of Kyvor III to discuss the unification of the Vagribar system. How this will effect the first convening of the newly formed Vagribarian Council remains to be seen. Currently, the council only has represenatives from four of Vagribar's fourteen inhabited star systems. The council was depending on the New Republic envoy to aid in convincing more systems to appoint represenatives to the council, thus giving more credence to their efforts to unify the sector to stand stand against the encroaching of Empirial forces. It is suspected that the envoy was destroyed by an attack from the Phy'Rel system...one of the three sectors in the Vagribar sector which adhere to the late Emperor Palpatine's New Order. However, Moff Kroliin strongly denies involvment, citing a lack of concern regarding the council. On a side note, when asked how he felt about the formation of the Council, Kroliin spoke frankly. [The view switches to an image of Moff Kroliin, a large ] [mountain of muscle with a straight posture, gray-white ] [hair, and a deeply etched face the looks hard enough ] [to break a board across. His speaking tone is stern ] [though tinged with a hint of amusement. ] "I think they're a band of power hungry hypocrits. They claim to want to unify the sector, serving it's best interests, but they neglect to mention that no less than three systems were denied admittance into their so called council. Honestly, I don't think it's a bad concept. I'm all for unity, but the proposed Council is none of the things it proposes to be. Were it better led, it could potentially be just what this sector needs." [The veiw returns to the reporter. ] "Moff Kroliin declined further comment. Tomorrow, we'll be bringing you a live interview with Councilor Caster Thresbin about the plans of the council and his reaction to the disappearance of the New Republic Envoy. This has been Grohr Cressslen reporting for Outer Truth Holonews." -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Notes from the Gamemaster: Thus begins my second Star Wars RPG campaign. This will be the news report that sets the stage as New Republic Intelligence operatives (the PCs) are brought in to recieve briefing for their mission...to investigate the disappearance of the envoy. The Empire actually has little to do with the disappearance. It is the actions of the never seen antagonist of my previous, very successful campaign known as Deathmaker. Right now, the players know absolutely nothing about Deathmaker other than having heard the name connected to some advanced weapons of destruction (including the Tie Defender). Since all the PCs died in the last campaign, the new PCs don't even know that much. I haven't even hinted that the campaign will be in any way related to the previous one. The two campaigns are very different in conception. The first was a pirate campaign where the Pirates of Escabar became entangled in a complex war between the spirits of two deceased Jedi Masters. Deathmaker was the supplier to the Dark Jedi Master's legions. Though Deathmaker sells his technology to a splinter faction of the Empire, he has his own motivations and schemes. The campaign will slowly unravel the mystery behind one of the most fearsome NPCs ever to enter my mind. This means forthcoming Holonews on a semi-regular basis. :)
