Thermus aquaticus Media

Thermus aquaticus were grown in a defined mineral salts medium containing the following components:

  • 0.3% glutamic acid
  • 0.1 mg/liter biotin
  • 0.1 mg/liter thiamin
  • 0.05 mg/liter nicotinic acid
  • 100 mg/liter nitrilotriacetic acid
  • 60 mg/liter CaSO4.2H2O
  • 100 mg/liter Mg2SO4.7H2O
  • 8 mg/liter NaCl
  • 103 mg/liter KNO3
  • 689 mg/liter NaNO3
  • 5 mg/liter ZnSO4
  • 5 mg/liter H3BO3
  • 0.16 mg/liter CuSO4
  • 0.25 mg/liter NaMoO4.2H2O
  • 0.4 mg/liter CoCl2
  • 0.28 mg/liter FeCl3
  • 22 mg/liter MnSO4.H2O
  • 110 mg/liter Na2HPO4

    Adjust pH to 8.0 with NaOH
