- Talk starts a two-way full screen communication session between two
people (who don't necessarily have to be on the same machine). You
will require correct terminal settings to use talk effectively, so
make sure you have your terminal settings set correctly. A talk
session is initated by one person who then waits for the other user
to talk to them in turn. The other user is told that they are
wanted for a talk request (provided their messages are turned on)
and they attempt to talk to the initating party (by doing what the
talk request tells them to do). If all goes well, the screen will be
split in two and both can type in their own window at the same time
(data is sent immediately so you see what the other types as he
types it).
