x3270 [internet.address]

X3270 is basically telnet emulating a IBM 3270 terminal. x3270 is used for accessing remote IBM mainframes in thier native mode. x3270 is run under X-windows and has graphical menus so it is easy to use. x3270 is usefull locally for accessing your student records or luis from X-windows.

To access LUIS or the REGIQ system from x3270, connect to: indst.indstate.edu and from the command prompt (on the initial login screen) enter "dial luis" for LUIS or "dial regiq" for REGIQ. If all goes well you will connected to LUIS or REGIQ normally and be able to use those services normally.
