Mosaic used to be the web browser, it has since been all but
replaced in functionality with netscape. While Mosaic may seem to
be functionally the same as netscape, the latter support more html
formatting and forms options than Mosaic. Like netscape, Mosaic may
only be used from an X-windows capable terminal.
URL's are formed just like in netscape or lynx, valid URL's are:
http://<addr>
- Browse a WWW server.
gopher://<addr>
- Browse a gopher server.
telnet://<addr>
- Telnet to a remote host.
ftp://<addr>
- Connect to an ftp site.
news:<usenet-group>
- Read usenet news.
<filename>
- Display the html file.
You'll note that Mosaic does not support the mailto: URL, at least
not at this time. Like netscape, single click on an highlighted
object to follow a link. Use the back button to go back to the
previous URL. Click on the spinning globe to abort the current URL.
Use the close window button to exit Mosaic.
